I'm a firm believer that you pretty much get what you pay for, and this is more true nowadays than ever. So, I usually stick to "name-brand" products with the expectation that the quality, regardless of price, is better.
I self-publish and sell training booklets, and my products must have a good look and feel about them. The paper I use is VERY important in this regard and has to meet certain specs. I have used a name brand paper in the past and, because the Office Max brand met those specs and the price was lower, I thought I'd try a ream. I fully intended to return it if it didn't meet my standards and go back to my usual brand.
One might not think that something as common or simple as paper is a very big thing. However, the paper I use for my booklets matters a great deal - the feel and look of it after printing makes an impression on my customers. So I wasn't about to use something merely to save a few dollars.
Needless to say, I was very favorably impressed with the Office Max paper. My commercial-quality printer prints beautifully on it, crisp and clean with no streaking or running. The brightness and solid feel of the paper provides the quality appearance I insist on. My booklets now look better than ever, and I often get very positive feedback and compliments on them from my customers.
I can highly recommend Office Max paper to anyone who needs quality paper for this type of printing or a similar project. To obtain best results, be sure to set your printer settings to take full advantage of the paper's features. You will be happy not only with the end result, but the money you'll save as well!
