Cons: Sheet Capacity, feeder entrance, bin capacity, bin latch and sensor, overall design
This shredders is a nightmare. It is a far cry from the great shredder made by Fellows I used in the past. It is difficult to use due to the limited access to the shredder port. The lack of a guide tray was a huge design error. Instead of sliding pages down a short input you litterly have to feed them carefully directly into the shredder at a 90 degree angle.
The shredder input capacity is so small it takes forever to shred multiple documents and the catch bin is also undersized. The bin itself is difficult to close.
I want to shred documents not play with an over priced shredder that does not fulfill my needs.
I have had this shredder for 2 years and the prior one I had was one of the cheaper 75-100 dollar types, this one is heavy duty and great for a small business or home use. While I do get pieces of paper around the basket when I empty it it's pretty common for there to be some paper pieces around when you throw out the trash bin.
The paper pieces are about 1/4" by about 1" cuts, if you can "read" that, I give more power to you. When I look in my bin of shredded papers, I can tell very little from it. If you are paranoid and needed finer cuts I'd suggest the 400+ dollar units, but for common sense security I don't see people getting your shred and putting it back together....
It will shred credit cards and cd's with no trouble and overall for 2 years it's been solid. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again, it's a great shredder.
