Great Phone!!
Pros: Clarity, Features
I purchased this phone for my At Home virtual call center. I just purchased a cheap but GREAT GE Call center headset and needed a phone to incorporate it with. I was looking for a good phone with headset attachment for a cheap price. If you are in the Telecomm industry you know that most office phones & headsets are $100+ each. This phone performs like a Nortel or CISCO, its GREAT!!! and for the price? cant beat this phone. Altogether I spent less than $70 for the phone & headset!

Good Value
We had old outdated phones that did not allow us to answer both of our lines on all 3 phones in our shop. We had some new lines installed by the phone company so we could accomodate the 2 line phones everywhere in the shop. These were very easy to set up once the new lines were installed and have been great to use. Nice quality for the money.

AT&T 993
Pros: Clarity, Features
Love this phone! Worked with an inherited MUCH older model for the last six years and it recently had it's first issues... bought two of these phones, plugged them in and they were ready to go without any programming at all.
Kept the same different rings and settings of the old phones! Surprising, but fantastic! Easy 2 line usage, speaker phone, etc.
Basic phone, great price, great functionality! Wish I'd made this small investment years ago.

do require AC power
Pros: Range, Clarity, Features
Cons: do not work without ac power as described
OfficeMax description and the User Manual page 3 both state that this phone will work without AC power, but later in the manual the battery is referred to as backup power. I was surprised to find AC adapters in the box. I bought them for two locations that do not have AC power available. What I learned was that these phones will work on battery power, but a new battery will not last more than two days. These might be good phones but they do not match the description and do not meet my needs. I have other two line phones that I bought from OfficeMax that did not come with AC power and the batteries last over one year. I will return these phones as they do not match their description.

Ringer
Cons: ring tones vary from call to call.
The ringer behaves strangely. We have 4 phones in different rooms. Ringers have different ring volumes and sometimes it only rings on one phone when roll over to second line. Sometimes every phone rings. We haven't been able to get the ring tones. Often the tone sounds the same as our fax machine and we don't answer the phone. Sheesh.
