Incredible!
Pros: Durable, Sheet Capacity, Jam Free
I rarely write reviews, however, I'm taking a moment for this one. This cross-shredder works beyond my expectations. I can put a whole credit card offer into it without unwrapping them. (no staples of course). I knew it was a serious machine just by the weight of shredder itself. I see this working for quite a while and easily paying for itself in a year.

Great Value
Pros: Durable, Sheet Capacity, Jam Free
I read the reviews of others who said this was not the one to get. Except for not being able to track it, it arrived a couple of days b4 the due date. I have run up to 10 pages and it slows down a little, but ate them all. The dvd/cd/credit card shredder is a great bonus. As to noise, my old one, to shred you would almost have to put in earplugs, and this one is so quiet. I really like that it cuts into diamonds. I have nothing but praise for it.

SHORT LIFESPAN
Pros: Jam Free
Cons: Durability
I HAVE HAD 2 OF THESE UNITS IN THE PAST YEAR. MINIMAL USEAGE, LESS THAN 10 PAGES DAILY, AND THEY STILL BURN OUT AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS. I THOUGHT MAYBE THE FIRST ONE WAS JUST A FLUKE, BUT THE SECOND ONE LASTED EVEN LESS TIME.

Awesome
Pros: Durable, Sheet Capacity, Jam Free, quality machine
I love this shredder! It really is awesome. It is fast, efficient and so far not a single paper jam. The recessed handle is great for lifting the top part up to empty it. It is by far the best shredder I have ever owned.

Very good for money, low noise
Pros: Durable, Jam Free, quiet
Cons: slot width
I have this for home/business use and this shredder has kept churning for over 2 years now. Its very quiet compared to other shredders ive used (both were Fellowes'.. and they shredded fine but after shredding they ran their motors at a VERY loud level for a few seconds- thats annoying in an office),
This occasionally jams but thats when im shoving in thicker envelopes.. usually its great. I wish the bin was larger though, it fills up fast. I end up lifting the top and compressing the shreddings regularly.
It gets messy to dump the bin since you have to remove the top and you end up getting bits of paper everywhere. A tip out removable bin would be better.
I also with the slot was a hair wider.. as of now it will NOT fit a standard envelope horizontally.. you have to go vertical and that means it takes longer to shred.
Overall im still VERY happy with it because of its speed, durability and low noise. Id buy again for sure. Infact, I am buying a second one for the real office and keeping this one at the home office.

DO NOT BUY
Cons: Durability, Sheet Capacity
This shredder did not perform as it should minimal use about once a month for 1/2 an hour. Reverse stopped working and sounds like it needs lube.
I tried WD-40 NG.

Dont buy
Cons: Durability
Since I can't give this product 0 stars I have to give it one star. I have now been through 2 of these shredders. Both only lasted for about 4 months. The second one was babied with only 2 to 3 shees at a time. I only used it for shredding the junk mail about twice a month. So find a better brand that is built to last.

Paper shredder
Pros: Durable, Sheet Capacity, Jam Free
Very economical and easy to operate. I have never had a paper jam. This shredder can do multiple sheets even stapled paper. Great product to use to protect from identity theft.

Buy a better known office brand
Cons: Jamming, Durability, Sheet Capacity, add a con
It was good while it lasted...only 4 months. I tried to shred a thin envelope with only 1 or 2 sheets of paper in it & it jammed. I got the envelope out, but the shredder won't shred anymore. Only works in reverse. I'm glad I did not pay full price ($89). Now I have spent over $100 in 6 months time. I should have stuck to a low-tech scissor! (I now have a Fellowes brand shredder. It has a built in guide...you can't shred anything that doesn't fit into the guide.)

Looks Nice but Poor Quality
Cons: Jamming, Durability, Sheet Capacity
The 10 sheet performance claim is definitely over-rated. If you are trying to shred coated paper, or those darn checks your credit card company is always sending, plan on two or three at a time. And, after a couple of minutes, the thing overheats and shuts down. But even that 'protection' did not stop mine from breaking a cheaply made cast-metal gear inside the device.
Skip this one. It is not worth any price

Good for Light Use
Pros: Jam Free
Cons: Sheet Capacity
Shredder is good for light use. I wouldn't recommend putting over 5 sheets of paper through it at one time. Perfect for home use, but can get overheated if you have large amounts of shredding to do.

A bad choice
Cons: Jamming, Durability
After shredding the paper hung up on the underside and would not drop into the bin.  Overheating was a constant problem.  Finally the machine would only run in reverse.  Would not recommed this to anyone.

R.I.P.
Cons: Durability
Bought 4/5/08 died 2/5/10. This is a light duty machine and will not take rated number of sheets. Suggest five pages max. Auto switch stopped working about six months ago - either on or off. Plastic dividers between cutters broke causing jamming. When I bought it the salesperson suggested I get extended warranty for it for half the price of the unit. That should have been a hint. Used unit for personal and organization duties. This is second Officemax shredder that died in less than two years. No more Officemax shredders for me.

does not last long
Cons: Durability, cd shredder only cuts items in half; weak security
Purchased the product and used lightly; once every few weeks with 1-2 minutes of shredding; with oiling the unit still died after 13 months with no ability to repair; and the warranty is only one year.
Other shredders (Fellowes) have lasted much longer.

Unreliable
Pros: Sheet Capacity, Jam Free
Cons: Durability
This has nice features, credit cards, CD/DVD, staples and such. When it worked, it was quiet. Our first purchase was 4/29/09. That unit lasted just 38 days when the OVERLOAD/OVERHEAT led came on and the unit just quit.
We got a replacement from OfficeMax 7/6/09 and 6 months later, the same problem. On 01/6/10 I returned the unit for a refund. OfficeMax said the original warranty was only good until 4/29/10, so I saw no reason to give a third unit another chance to disappoint.

I think that a product for shredding papers is important now a days and this machine seems to fill the bill for use. Nice looking and takes care of our daily needs for a shredder.

Disapointed in short life
Pros: Jam Free
Cons: Durability, Sheet Capacity, low capacity, motor too light duty, will not shred credit cards
I bought this shredder on 2/25/2008 and I found it would not handle more then 5-6 sheets of std. paper at a time. The credit card shreader did not work at all. The cards go into the slot then just sit there. It did do a nice job of shredding paperv as long as you feed it slowly and 3-4 sheets max at a time. I use it for home use only but this week it just stopped in the middle of shredding a set of papers. The red overload light went on and then off in 2 sec. The machine stopped and would never start again. I checked for a jam but there actually was very little in the teeth. The power light does not even go on. I did spray lubricant on the cutters frequently. I paid more in hopes the unit would last longer then the $29.00 special I had for a year and a half. I am disappointed and the warrantee is gone so now I just have a waist basket.
