HP is a wonderful producer of printers and other electronics. I have bought and used several HP printers over the past 15 years, each model is improved and more reliable with each next generation of technology.
This HP Photosmart All-in-one is no exception. The color and printing quality from business needs to photo needs is impressive. Pictures are crisp and clear whether on a photo mat cardstock or everyday printing paper (choosing which type of paper you are using before printing allows for better results).
The paper feeder tray is the best of HP's to date, allowing for faster copying and faxing, with hardly any worry of skipped pages (because they're stuck together), misalligned papers, or paper jams. Haven't had one yet.
The machine is easy to use, buttons on the console itself replace the need of learning new printing software for the computer. Your own computer intuitively knows what you are trying to do when you push the buttons on the printer. Yes, some software installation is necessary before your computer will intuitively know this, but the need for user interface, once installed, is minimal. Older printers required an entire handbook just to learn the software in order to scan documents or photos into the computer. This is install and forget, if you choose to. You can still use your computer to do the same things perhaps with a little more control of specific output.
Overall HP continually impresses me and if it wasn't for the industry change in connectors over time (parrellel ports to HP specific ports to USB to wireless) I would still be using all my older HP printers (I still use two older ones for generic uses). So in conclusion, reliability has been great with HP products.
