HP dv4-2140us
Pros: Processing Speed, Screen Size, overall size and weight
Not bad for the price, $549.99. It does a lot, fast, compact, light, and attractive. Programs are good and for its size, it still comes with an optical drive. Although I was looking for a 12.1" laptop with optical drive (couldn't find one), the drive on this laptop is removable so makes it lighter. Good option. Also has an HDMI output so I can hook up to my TV to watch movies or videos.

Good laptop with a weak battery
Pros: Screen Size, preinstalled multi-media software
Cons: Battery Life
Great specs on this "entertainment" laptop. I say "entertainment" in air-quotes because it's a regular laptop with some pre-installed software for watching Hulu. as well as managing media. I didn't expect or want it, but it's OK. Performance is pretty good, I have no complaints about speed for what I use it for, namely being on the internet. I also like the screen dimensions, it's a bit taller than most laptop screens, and holds 800 pixels vertically, vs 768. That makes browsing the web just a little better. What I'm not thrilled with, and I had been warned in other reviews, was poor battery life. If you crank the screen down to half bright, you might just get 2 hrs out of it. It's like driving a '69 Mustang with the 396 cu.in. engine around the block, you can watch the gas gauge drop minute by minute (or in this case, the battery life). I mean, it drops by a percent or so every minute. Yeah, do the math, that's less than 2 hrs. I'm going to pop for an aftermarket extended life battery, adding about $100 to the cost. Otherwise, no complaints. Oh, and the glossy black case is a fingerprint magnet. Whatever.

Decent at best
Pros: Screen Size, weight windows 7 and easy use
Cons: mouse screen batteryand quality
This laptop is decent at best. The screen is okay not as crisp as I thought it would be. The touch pad is horrible, not as responsive as others. Speakers are perfect especially for the size and the remote control. Battery is absolutely horrible two maybe three hours max. Attracts figures prints easily. This is the second laptop I received. The first laptop the touch pad barely worked, i would have to press multiple times before it clicked, as well as the screen was horrible, everything was dark even if on full bright. Please be cautious and fully investigate this product before buying. Not bad but not a great laptop.
