Very good value
Pros: Easy to Use, Meets Expectations, Features
Cons: noisy when printing
Writing about the slightly older but similar 2170. Has worked very well, we've been quite pleased with it. Wireless setup was not difficult, print quality excellent. Not the fastest printer in the world, and a little on the noisy side. Be aware that the 'low toner detecting' feature is actually quite pessimistic and will begin nagging you and finally declare the cartridge 'out' when there's still a good bit of life left in it. To get maximum use out of your cartridges, it's easy to disable this feature simply by putting a piece of masking tap over one of the sensor ports at either end of the cartridge.

Easy to Use. Hard to Setup.
Pros: Easy to Use, Meets Expectations, Features
Cons: Set up
Great printer -- great value. Easy to use and great printing quality. The wireless printing is difficult to setup -- but their telephone support helps. Once done -- we love it!

Good Printer for personal or small office usage
Pros: Easy to Use, Meets Expectations, Features, usually inexpensive to buy and maintain, can last a long time if not overused
I have multiple Brother printers at my school. I usually purchase them when they are on sale. So, I usually can purchase one for less than $100. These particular printers seem to do well in small department offices for teachers to do small printing jobs. They also work at home for those that don't print thousands of pages. In school and at home I've seen the small brothers last for years, and they are so inexpensive that if for some reason that they stop working, I'm not pulling out hairs because I have to go buy a new one. The toner is also relatively inexpensive, and will usually last the department at least the semester. But, of course, they print big jobs to the main copier/printers on campus. I'd recommend to anyone.
