Great purchase
Pros: Easy to Use, Meets Expectations, Features
Cons: lessor quality could lead to early failure., noisy
I purchased the Brother HL-2270DW to replace my Brother HL-1440 which failed because of apparently worn out gears. The HL-2270DW is noisy but I like the two sided printing feature and the wireless capability. The printer was easy to set up and print quality is better than the HL-1440.

Flimsy, confusing print settings
Pros: Features
Cons: Does Not Meet Expectations, flimsy construction, unreliable manual feed
Bought this to replace my stalwart Brother HL1435 which finally printed its last. I alternate between plain paper text printing and printing postage on Kraft #14 envelopes with my postage application. The manual feed mechanism is so minimal and flimsy that the envelopes consistently came out with crooked postage, even though I babysat each feed. The print settings were also confusing to me, but that might just be my mistake. I finally gave up on this printer after almost four weeks and returned it to Office Max. I bought the HL-5470DW instead, which was $150 more but worth it: No problem with the envelope feed at all, much more substantial construction. I appreciate the duplex printing in both printers--saves paper!

Smart choice
Pros: Easy to Use, Meets Expectations, Features
We needed to replace our old HP printers and wanted something with a smaller footprint due to space limitations.
We now have four of these little gems and are very happy with their performance and reliability. Great product and great price!

A printer I can afford to operate.
Pros: Easy to Use, Features
Love this printer. I got so tired of outrageous ink prices. I set this upstairs for my wife, using the wifi feature. Easy to set up if you follow directions. Works perfect. I love the paper-saving duplex feature. For basic home use, the kids school use, etc, this is exactly what we needed. I wish it would automatically turn on when a file is sent to it, but that is a very minor inconvenience. The kids send files to it all the time from a wireless laptop.
