Over the years I can not tell you how many printers I have had, but I will tell you this is the best yet. It was so easy to set up and EVERYTHING will print to it. My wife's iPad works like it was made just for it. My iPhone and my lap top all wireless. I would like the print quality to be a little better but it is good. The two sided feature actually works. Had for just about one month and NO complains.
Cons: Does Not Meet Expectations, will not print on thick stock paper
I bought this printer with high expectations after my trusty HP 5660 was no longer supported. The printer was simple to set up and the print was good for an inkjet. The issue I had with the 8600 was it would not pick up any paper out of the tray that was thicker than normal notebook paper. I tried printing on certificate paper, card stock, and even top quality HP photo paper and was unsuccessful. The printer would hum and click for several seconds then the “Paper Tray is Empty’ Icon would come on. It did this no matter how much paper was in the tray. After several frustrating attempts to print a picture on HP print paper I went on line to see if anyone else had this issue and if there was a fix for the problem. To my disappointment I found that this appears to be a common issue with this printer with no real solution. The next day I returned the 8600 to Office max and bought an Epson WF-3540. Kudos to Office Max and their return policy. I have had the Epson for two months now and have had no issues. It was easy to set up and the print quality is good. If you are thinking of buying the HP 8600 printer and and want to print on any paper thicker than normal 20lb copy paper forget it. Just go on line and read for yourself.
Set up was easy. Print quality and speed great! Some of the problems of paper jamming, envelopes not printing, not recognizing second tray, etc. as I read in some reviews whilst researching, I have not experienced. It works great for me! It's a great printer!
