Multi-featured, Easy to Use All-In-One Printer
Pros: Easy to Use, Meets Expectations, Features
Cons: infrequently won't print over wireless network
We've had the HP 8600+ for several weeks now and are very satisfied with it. Like other users have noted, the printer sometimes will not print a job, even though the wireless indicator shows that it's connected to our wireless LAN. Other than that infrequent problem (solved by turning the printer off, then back on), the printer works very well. We're especially impressed with its automatic duplex printing capability and its slow use of ink. We also like the fact that its ink is provided by 4 separate cartridges, so we don't have to replace a multi-color cartridge simply because one color has been exhausted. Setup was a breeze.

Great Machine
Pros: Meets Expectations
This machine is a work horse. This is the 2nd machine I have owned. The first one is still running excepts the ADF slips. It is cheaper and easier to just replace this machine. We currently use both machine at our small business. We use 2 cases of paper a month plus a multitude of scanning projects as we scan everything for archiving.

Needs a bit more features in the scanning dept.
Pros: Easy to Use, Features
Cons: does not allow appending to an existing pdf, skews scans using autofeeder
This is an excellent printer. It is also a pretty good scanner except for two problems.
Problem 1: All the scans to PDF using the auto-feeder skew the scans so that the top is to the right and the bottom is to the left. We have 3 of these printers and they all do the same thing. This is probably due to the design of the scanning mechanism.
Proble 2: The scanning software doesn't offer an option to append a PDF you just scanned to an existing PDF you scanned a few days ago. It only offers to overwrite the PDF if it has the same name as the one you just scanned. About 50% of the time we are scanning receipts as our office is trying to go paperless. When you scan charge receipts you get them throughout the month and you want to append the new scans to a previously existing PDF file from many days ago. Since the software doesn't offer the append option you end up with a ton of separate files when it would have been much easier to manage on the hard drive if we only have 1 PDF file for each month's receipts.

Great Printer
Pros: Easy to Use, Meets Expectations, Features, reasonably priced ink
I had a Dell, nothing but problems, when it did work ink cost a fortune. The HP was easy to hook up, works well and ink is as reasonable as any.

very cost effective
Pros: Easy to Use, Meets Expectations, Features, low cost to run
My ink costs are actually lower than HP's forecast because I use the Draft mode for most of my printing. Draft mode double-side is a great cost saver.

It's OK
Pros: Features, eprint - love this, printing is very fast
Cons: slower than expected (scanning), noisier than expected
It works fine. It is just a little slow (scanning) and noisy (scanning and printing). I am happy it does double sided printing and I LOVE the eprint feature. I have had issues with my wireless connection being interrupted, but all in all, it has been pretty good. I am not disappointed. I had been using a deskjet 6500 which I loved.

Great Print quality
Pros: Easy to Use, Features, photo quality, speedy print for ink jet
I have read several reviews about this printer, where people had trouble with this printer feeding the photo paper. I had this trouble at first, but I found on hp forums, make a hundred copies of a blank sheet of paper. This breaks in the rollers. I did this and haven't had a bit of trouble after this. All features worked great out of the box. The quality of the photos is as good or better than a lot of the photo printers that are out there. This printer also doesn't seem to use ink very fast. I printed 3 8 x 10 photos right away and didn't budge the meter on any of the starter inks. The text also looks great, and prints pretty fast.

HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One
Cons: Does Not Meet Expectations, Set up, quirky and unreliable
The first one we purchased powerd on once, and never again. OfficeMax was wonderful about taking it back. Because we've always had excellent service from HP printers, we purchased a second one when they had more in stock. BIG MISTAKE. While HP says you can print from anywhere any time, we can scarcely print from across the room. The only sure-fire method has been to drape a USB cord across the office. We've had it for 6 months and the auto feed, which we've used only on occassion, is destroying anything we put in it. We've installed and reinstalled the software and drivers innumerable times over the months, and it is still acting badly. Most recenlty, when it is turned on, it makes noises similiar to a haybaler starting up. I can't wait to see how that works out.

Super fast - Good value
Pros: Easy to Use, Meets Expectations, better than expected, easy setup, large cartridges
Cons: none
The 8600 Offcejet Pro is super-fast and easy to set up. After loading paper into the tray, turning the power on to load the ink cartridges, I connected a USB cable to the CPU unit, downloaded the software, disconnected the USB cable, and in less than 10-minutes the entire setup was complete. The 8600 Pro instantly recognized my Vizio router, all I had to do was type in my router pass code and it automatically set up my wireless features. Every feature exceeded my expectations. Another impressive feature is the large inkjet cartridges. The black HP 950 cartridges are rated for 1,000-pages, black HP 950XL 2,300-pages, HP 951 color cartridges 700-pages each, the 951 XL’s 1,500-pages each. A top of the line machine

The 8600 HP All-In-One
Pros: Easy to Use, Meets Expectations, Features, makes perfect photos
I recently purchased this model printer as my other HP printer stopped working. I am not happy with HP the company because they have not responded to my complaint about my older HP Printer. I HAD to get another printer and HP, is what I have always used. This 8600 model is wonderful, does everything it says it can do. It was easy to set up, the print is excellent, to do photographs, it comes out beautiful. The people at Office Max, especially Eric, was very helpfully. This time I got an extended warranty so if anything goes wrong with it, all I have to do is give it back to Office Max, and then they deal with HP. This machine is well worth the price and I love mine. I definitely recommend the HP 8600. You can't go wrong with this model.

Seems great
Pros: Easy to Use, Meets Expectations, Features
Bought the 8600 Officejet Pro for another location and liked the speed, functionality, and apparent cost effectiveness of the XL ink. Returned to main office and decided I would have to replace my HP 2420 Laser printer. So far, loving this one. Quick to set up for wireless; better screen; faster than the 8600, and the 2-side printing is a bonus. Only thing missing is a tray for feeding small quantities of paper. Don't love opening the paper drawer each time, and having to get past the pull out shelf that accepts the finished sheets. Other last complaint for both printers, they are very fussy about knowing the exact size of non-standard paper; in other words, it will not let me create a custom size [as with name tag labels, etc]. It is large, but I got rid of extra scanner, so who cares.

Best printer I have ever owned
Pros: Easy to Use, Meets Expectations, Features
An on-staff printer expert at my local OfficeMax told me that all of the people who had purchased this model had given uniformly positive feedback. Then he showed me the math on printing costs are for this model, even when using original HP cartridges. Add my name to the list of satisfied users: Crisp scans & prints. Trouble-free double-sided printing on paper AND postcards. Printer automatically networked itself to two different PCs, routing wirelessly through my Verizon hotspot. I have never experienced such stress-free interaction with a printer in my life.

Very Pleased
Pros: Easy to Use, Meets Expectations, Features, price
We are very please with this printer. We got it on sale for $230 & used a $30 off online coupon. It was delivered quickly and we brought the packing slip & an old printer in and got a credit to our credit card for $50 + tax!! Very good price. And this printer does everything - and does it well. It is a second printer to our laser, so we don't really use it that much for printing, but the printing so far has been good quality and fast. We use it more for the fax, scan & email features - which are all fast and easy to use.
