Problems from the start
Pros: Easy to Use
Cons: Does Not Meet Expectations, Quality, ink cartridges
We've only had this printer for 6 months and we are replacing it already. We use it for personal printing- a decent amount of color documents, but not a ton of photos. I feel like we go through ink faster than I can blink. After the sample cartridges were gone we started having issues with the black cartridge and the printer not recognizing it. The printer will not print if any one of the 5 cartridges are out- so not even black & white printing. The quality isn't great- we continually see little lines through our printing- especially if there's a section of solid black. I've never disliked a printer so much. I'm pretty cheap so having to replace a printer that still works is hard for me, but I just can't take the inconvenience anymore! There's a print job sitting on it right now because cyan ran out. I don't care- I'm going out a buying a new one. Ink cartridges are too expensive.

Ink Hog
Pros: Easy to Use, Features
Cons: Does Not Meet Expectations
The Epson ink cartridges tend to clog and require cleaning, which uses a LOT of ink. My previous Epson printer had the same issue, but I thought it was due to age. Apparently not. This is the last Epson printer I will buy. I've never had this problem with my HP printers.

Avoid Epson XP 600
Pros: can wirelessly scan to computer
Cons: Does Not Meet Expectations, voracious appetite for ink
When I first bought the Epson I had difficulty with printing using the ink cartridges that came with the machine. Epson customer service, after 40 minutes on the phone suggested that the machine was just defective. Offered to send me a new machine. Instead I simply went back to the store and exchanged the machines. Lo and behold--same problem. When I contacted customer support, I was now informed that the machine was fine but that Epson was aware that the black ink cartridges were defective. After 6 weeks they did send me a replacement cartridge. Needless to say, I had already purchased a new non defective cartridge. Machine now works fine. The reason that I will soon be replacing it--is that it has a voracious appetite for ink. THe XP sizes do not seem to last longer than non XP sizes. I do not print a great deal the machine is for home use not a business.
