Spent many hours trying to make wireless work. Took many attempts to connect it to the network. Now it claims it is connected, but router doesn't see it, and two laptops on the network cannot see it. Instructions say manually enter the url but they provide no guidance to locate the url. Since router can't see it, no luck finding the url on the DHCP client table. Tried 800-ok-canon but of course they are closed. Big mistake to buy a Canon on a weekend or on any day that you work for a living.
I've owned Canon laser printers for a long time. This is my third one. It's a very good printer. Unfortunately am not able to get it configured so others in my household can use it wirelessly. They can "see" it as one of their available printers, but it doesn't respond to any print commands. I am printing wirelessly just fine. Only reason I got a wireless printer was so others could use it. Oh well. Not worth having to pay someone to come fix it. I must have a setting wrong or something. Also wish it had AirPrint so I could print from iPad or iPhone.
Easy to install and setup the wireless connectivity. Impressed with the speed in printing. I always have success with Canon printers. I bought this to be my primary printer for most b/w printing needs and have another Canon inkjet for color needs.
Con: My only disappointment is it does not make 2-sided original to 2-sided copy. Did not realize this until I needed it 3 days from purchase. It has a lot of other features that I feel is less essential than making 2-sided copies. Canon's older models has this feature. I plan to return this machine.
The print quality is good and the set up ease is average. The negatives are that it does not have a distinctive ring feature for receiving faxes and does not generate a message print out to notify that a fax failed to transmit successfully, features found in my previous cheaper Bothers multipurpose machine.
