The computer works extremely well. It is FAST! It fired up, hooked itself to local net and the setup was smooth. However...Windows 8 is an absolute disaster for regular home use, such as banking, medical, writing, etc. Transferring data from older computers is an exercise in frustration. Simply finding out how to turn the computer off will cause a self-hair-pulling tantrum, especially if you are called for supper. Even Windows Vista nor 7 weren't this horrid. You can't make the middle button double-click. Sharing files is nearly impossible. This Windows 8 doesn't even rate a "1"; it rates a "-9" from this Computer Scientist/Software Engineer. Talk about a "nanny state"! I wish I had my XP back.
So far the only problem I have encountered is working with Windows 8. I have experienced problems with my email account and am assuming it is because of Windows 8. Things are getting easier as I become accustomed to the new Windows.
