Very pleased with the process of ordering online and picking it up in the store - very nice option! The installation was very straightforward. I had an older version of Publisher, using it primarily for a monthly newsletter, flyers, business cards and special projects. The odd thing with this version is you get directed to the internet to gather templates, etc, and the selection seems limited. Call me old fashioned but I wish I still had a users manual to accompany this product - guess I'll have to purchase a separate one, because I do value reference materials I can get my hands on. Generally a great product overall.
Cons: Load Time, totally incompetent customer service
I purchased this today from Office Max. I came home, opened the package, and proceeded to follow the very simple 4 step "start" instructions. After entering the 25 digit product key - the next page asked for Country and Language . . . . OK - sounds simple. Clicked on U.S. and . . . . . . . the Language drop-down would not open. There I sat. I proceeded to call the "contact us" number. Oh . . btw this was at 6:30pm. After a 23 min wait I was connected with customer service who apologized and transferred me to tech support. After another 20 something min wait - a tech support person apologized and said that "publisher" requires a different tech support. To make a long (very long) story short. . . . this went on for 3 hours. transferring me back n forth between customer "service" (HA!!) and the wrong tech support (and at least 20 "apologies") . . . . until they closed for the evening and instructed me to "call back again tomorrow". My advice to anyone thinking about purchasing ANYTHING from Microsoft is . . . . . find some other way to function . . . . and save your sanity. This company does not deserve your business.
