Good Buy
Pros: Easy to Use, Features
Cons: Does Not Meet Expectations, Set up
The HP Officejet Pro 8600 was a good purchase, but set-up was not so simple.
The 2 side copying feature is a separate set-up, which I did not know.

Buyer beware
Pros: Easy to Use, Features
Cons: Does Not Meet Expectations, will not print on thick stock paper
I bought this printer with high expectations after my trusty HP 5660 was no longer supported. The printer was simple to set up and the print was good for an inkjet. The issue I had with the 8600 was it would not pick up any paper out of the tray that was thicker than normal notebook paper. I tried printing on certificate paper, card stock, and even top quality HP photo paper and was unsuccessful. The printer would hum and click for several seconds then the “Paper Tray is Empty’ Icon would come on. It did this no matter how much paper was in the tray. After several frustrating attempts to print a picture on HP print paper I went on line to see if anyone else had this issue and if there was a fix for the problem. To my disappointment I found that this appears to be a common issue with this printer with no real solution. The next day I returned the 8600 to Office max and bought an Epson WF-3540. Kudos to Office Max and their return policy. I have had the Epson for two months now and have had no issues. It was easy to set up and the print quality is good. If you are thinking of buying the HP 8600 printer and and want to print on any paper thicker than normal 20lb copy paper forget it. Just go on line and read for yourself.

Still in question
Pros: Easy to Use, Features
Cons: Does Not Meet Expectations, locks up in sleep mode
I purchased this printer from reading the reviews and being high rated.
Although it prints nice and works well, i seem to be having some issues when the printer is idle and goes to sleep, once it does that it locks up and wont do anything, you have to unplug the unit from the outlet and fire it back up.
Maybe i have something wrong in the settings but have yet to find where.
I am still not quite sure if i have a defective unit or what, but not the best solution when you are suppose to be able to print when away from home and it locks up and wont do a thing.

Disappointed
Pros: Easy to Use, Features
Cons: Does Not Meet Expectations
It has nice features and the speed and quality are decent for the price; however, it's BROWN and completely hideous. I never heard of brown electronics. What a bad idea! And the touch screen seems cheap. Real buttons would be better.
