Install Windows 7 and enjoy!
Pros: Processing Speed, Storage Space, 3d performance
Cons: windows 8
This computer (if we talk about the hardware) is great, however, I highly recommend to get rid of Windows 8 (which is a nightmare) and install Windows 7 (yes you will need to purchase it). Use Google to find the necessary drivers because HP only provides drivers for Windows 8 and most of them are not compatible with Windows 7 (hint: there are similar computers on HP website which come with Windows 7 = your source of drivers). Once you're done, this is excellent machine, good for everyday work and even modern games. I would call it a paradise for gamers on a budget. It's very fast, stable, has great 3D performance (at least for a $500 PC).

Fast but difficult
Pros: Processing Speed
Cons: windows 8
The computer works extremely well. It is FAST! It fired up, hooked itself to local net and the setup was smooth. However...Windows 8 is an absolute disaster for regular home use, such as banking, medical, writing, etc. Transferring data from older computers is an exercise in frustration. Simply finding out how to turn the computer off will cause a self-hair-pulling tantrum, especially if you are called for supper. Even Windows Vista nor 7 weren't this horrid. You can't make the middle button double-click. Sharing files is nearly impossible. This Windows 8 doesn't even rate a "1"; it rates a "-9" from this Computer Scientist/Software Engineer. Talk about a "nanny state"! I wish I had my XP back.
